Do you know what galvanized steel is?
As specialists in the galvanized pipe, today we want to talk to you about galvanized steel, so that you know what it is and what uses it has. It is a type of steel processed with a treatment in which it is covered with various layers of zinc. These layers protect the steel and prevent it from rusting. Galvanized steel is a material with a very durable and scratch-resistant finish, making it more attractive to many consumers and is used for the manufacture of many components for industrial use.
How is this made?
The individual steel parts are first made into the desired shape, for example keys, nails, rings, sheets, wires or tubes, for example. Afterwards, a galvanizing technique is applied, such as dip galvanizing, a common method that consists of immersing steel in molten zinc, so that a chemical reaction occurs in which permanent bonds are generated between both elements and, when It cools, three different layers remain, the outer one is just zinc, the inner layer is steel and zinc, and the innermost layer is steel.
Although we can find other systems to manufacture galvanized steel such as continuous galvanizing, a technique that passes thin sheets or steel wires through molten zinc. And we cannot stop talking about electrogalvanizing or dip galvanizing, which is considered one of the most resistant techniques.

Galvanized pipe
He galvanized pipe It is an element made of steel and coated with zinc, so that it is more resistant to corrosion and does not rust, in addition to providing aesthetic beautification to the piece. It is characterized by its strength, durability, firmness, ability to withstand extreme changes in temperature, resistance to pressure and destructive elements, etc. This allows them to be a very useful element in any industry, since their shape can be adapted depending on the use that is going to be given to it.
He galvanized pipe It can be used for the domestic environment, in order to make pipes through which gas, water and any other material circulates or for industries, since it has perfect characteristics to adapt to the needs of this sector. It can also be used for other applications, such as for the installation of fencing, fence supports, greenhouses, gates or cages.
At Armengol we are specialists in the manufacture, installation and distribution of galvanized pipe and we can explain to you that there are three methods to manufacture it; Drawn or seamless steel (the most common form), with a longitudinal seam (it is the weakest part of the pipe and marks the maximum allowable tension) and with helical welding (a weld is carried out that is not straight, but runs along the pipe and follows it as if it were a thread.)
